BI naghahanda sa posibleng pagtaas ng arrival cap

Naghahanda na ang Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa planong pagdagdag ng arrivals cap para sa international passengers upang ma-accommodate ang mas maraming returning overseas Filipinos.

Ipinag-utos na ni BI Commissioner Jaime Morente sa BI Port Operations Division na magsagawa ng assessment sa manpower na kakailanganin.

“With the recent hiring of almost a hundred immigration officers, we are confident that we can supply the needed manpower for the possible increase in arrivals,” pahayag ni Morente.

Matatandaang may 99 na bagong immigration officers na naitalaga sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Dumadaan ang naturang immigration officers sa on-the-job training bago ang deployment na immigration counters.

Ani Morente, may karagdagan pang batch ng bagong tanggap na immigration officers ang inaasahang magsasanay bago matapos ang 2021.

Dagdag nito, “We are currently fast tracking their application so they can be deployed in time for the increase of the number of international passengers.”

Umaasa rin si Morente na unti-unti nang babalik ang international travel kasunod ng vaccination drive ng bansa.
