Mga benepisyaryo ng TUPAD, pinag-iingat laban sa mga scam
Hinikayat ni Labor Secretary Silvestre ‘Bebot’ Bello III ang mga benepisyaryo ng Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program na maging mapagmatyag laban sa mga public official at mga kasabwat na ginagamit ang government aid programs para sa pansariling interes.
Kasunod ito ng mga alegasyon ng anomalya sa implementasyon ng TUPAD sa Quezon City kung saan dawit ang ilang opisyal sa iregularidad ng programa.
Isang cash-for-work program ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ang TUPAD upang matulungan ang mga manggagawang tinamaan ng pandemya.
Sinabi ng kalihim na nagsasagawa na ng imbestigasyon ang Philippine National Police (PNP) at National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa usapin.
“The probes will definitely bring out names and we are prepared to file cases against those who deserve punishment,” saad ni Bello sa TUPAD payout ceremony sa Cagayan de Oro City.
Maliban sa Cagayan de Oro City, pumunta rin ang kalihim sa ilang parte ng Mindanao kabilang ang Iligan City, Bukidnon, Koronadal City, Kidapawan City at Digos City para sa naturang programa.
“TUPAD should not be used in politics because the program is really for our countrymen who need help amid the crisis,” ani Bello.
