Pagbili ng PPEs ng PITC kinuwestiyon, dapat imbestigahan sa Senado

Hiniling ni Senator Leila de Lima na maimbestigahan sa Senado ang kuwestiyonableng pagbili ng Philippine International Trading Corporation ng personal protective equipment.

Sa inihain niyang Senate Resolution No. 906, sinabi ni de Lima na kailangan din ipaliwanag ng PITC ang kabiguan na isoli ang bilyong-bilyong pisong pondo ng source agencies at sa national treasury.

“The PITC’s deficient and delayed delivery of its procurement responsibilities to various source agencies and disbursement of funds hampered the services and projects that are greatly needed in this time of pandemic,” sabi ng senadora.

Binanggit nito ang obserbasyon sa 2020 Commission on Audit Report hinggil sa mga hindi magkakatugma, iregularidad at pagkakaantala sa pagbili ng PITC ng PPEs sa isang supplier na nakabase pa sa Davao Cty.

“Notably, contracts accessed on the PITC website showed that there were 10 separate contracts for different items worth ₱129.9 million, and a cross-check of the report’s reference number with the PITC website indicated that all contracts were awarded to Biosite Medical Instruments of Matina, Davao City,” ang pagbabahagi ni de Lima.

Isa din aniya sa naobserbahan ng COAay ang hindi pagsoli ng PITC ng higit P11 bilyon sa ilang ahensiya at Bureau of Treasury.

“Kailangang suriin ang ganitong mga kahina-hinalang transaksyon para masigurong walang hokus-pokus na naganap, at kung may kailangang panagutin sa paglimas ng kaban ng bayan; na sa halip na pakinabangan ng taumbayan ay napunta sa luho o bulsa ng iilan,” aniya.
