DepEd, sinimulan ang One Health Week sa inagurasyon ng 1,869 school clinics sa bansa

Sinimulan na ng Department of Education (DepEd) ang One Health Week kasabay ng inagurasyon ng 1,896 school clinics sa buong bansa bilang bahagi ng School Dental Health Care Program (SDHCP).

“We find it necessary to still provide these services to learners and personnel to address the high prevalence of dental caries and other health problems during the time of the pandemic,” saad ni Secretary Leonor Briones.

Sa pangunguna ng DepEd Bureau of Learners Support Services-School Health Division (BLSS-SHD), binago ng SDHCP ang 1,706 sa 1,869 clinics, kabilang ang 1,068 na nilagyan ng dental chair, medical consultation rooms, tools, at medical supplies.

“Ang symbolic ribbon cutting ngayong araw na ito sa iba’t ibang paaralan sa buong Pilipinas ay nagpapamalas ng ating pagkakaisa hindi lamang para sa operations ng clinics na ating itinatag kundi gayon na rin ang pagpapalakas ng delivery ng medical at dental services sa ating mga mag-aaral bilang bahagi ng ating basic education learning continuity plan sa School Year 2021-2022 na magbubukas sa susunod na Lunes,” ani Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del Pascua.

Aniya pa, naipadala na ang health care supplies na naglalaman ng toothpaste, sipilyo, at sabon na ipamamahagi sa 14,118,220 mag-aaral ng Kinder hanggang Grade 6.

May tema itong “Bayanihan para sa Kalusugan: OK sa DepEd, sa Paaralan, at sa Tahanan”

Nakatakdang ang One Health Week ng DepEd na magbigay sa mga stakeholder, lalo na sa mga mag-aaral, ng mga key update at mga inisyatibo ng pangunahing programang Oplan Kalusugan (OK) sa kagawaran.
