Technical audit ng NTC sa Dito Telecom hiniling na isapubliko
May pagdududa ang Infrawtach PH sa resulta ng isinagawang pangalawang technical audit ng National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) sa Dito Telecommunity.
Kayat, ayon kay Terry Ridon, convenor ng nabanggit na policy institute, dapat ay isapubliko ang mga nalaman ng NTC sa paniniwalang hindi nabanggit ang mga ibinahaging karanasan ng mga subscribers ng third major telco sa bansa.
“Instead of Dito, it is the NTC that should explain to the public the actual methodology and results of the second technical audit, because nothing in the audit hews closely to real-world results tested by actual users. We’d like to know which parallel universe these speed tests were taken,” sabi pa ni Ridon, na dating miyembro ng Information and Communications Technology Committee ng Kamara.
Aniya hindi rin dapat tanggapin ang pagdadahilan ng Dito na maaring isinasagawa ang spees tests sa kanilang serbisyo malayo sa kanilang mga pasilidad at kayat nakokompromiso ang resulta ng survey.
Batid niya na maaring nag-aalala ang Dito sa kanilang P25 billion performance bond kayat alam nila ang nakasalalay sa technical audit.
“While declining speed and reliability results may reflect a widening customer base, it also reflects the limits of Dito’s current infrastructure to cater to more users in both the short and medium term,” sabi pa nito.
Una nang ibinahagi ng independent telco analyst na OpenSignal na lumaylay ang serbisyo ng Dito ng ilang buwan kumpara sa dalawa pang major telcos.
Wala pang tugon ang NTC sa hamon ng Infrawatch.
