Doktor pinagalitan ni Roque

Pinagalitan ni Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque ang isang grupo ng mga doktor na umaapelang huwag luwagan ang quarantine classification sa Metro Manila dahil nagpapatuloy pa ang banta ng COVID-19 Delta variant.

Sa video na eksklusibong nakuha ni Marlon Ramos ng Philippine Daily Inquirer, makikitang hindi nakapagtimpi si Roque sa meeting ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases at pinagalitan ang isang doktor.

“Thinking about economic ramifications, thinking about people who will go hungry does not mean we care any less… This group, they have never said anything good about government response,” pahayag ni Roque.

“We’re trying to achieve total health. Who wants COVID to kill people? Are you saying that only medical frontliners are concerned about the health of the people? We all want to save lives, for crying out loud. No one in government wants a single life lost! No one! How dare you think that we are not considering steps to prevent the loss of lives?” dagdag ng kalihim.

Nangyari ang meeting noong Martes, Setyembre 7, isang araw bago binawi ng pamahalaan ang implementasyon ng granular lockdown sa Metro Manila.

Nabatid na umaapela si Dr. Maricar Limpin, presidente ng Philippine College of Physicians na irekonsidera ang quarantine classification.

Tutol kasi si Limpin na isailalim sa general community quarantine ang Metro Manila dahil tiyak na marami ang tatamaan ng virus.

Pero sa halip, pinagalitan ni Roque ang doktor.

Sa panig ni Roque, sinabi nitong ang IATF meeting ay isang classified meeting na dapat sana ay secret ito.
