Kinumpirma ito ng kaniyang anak na si Camarines Sur 2nd District Rep. Luis Raymund (LRay) Villafuerte Jr.
Aniya, pumanaw ang dating kongresista sa St. Luke’s Medical Center sa Taguig City bandang 12:35, Miyerkules ng umaga (September 8).
“It is with great Pain and Sadness that I announce the demise of a loved and dear one, My Father, Luis R. Villafuerte Sr., one of the most Illustrious political leaders of our country,” saad ni LRay.
Aniya, “He was not only my mentor and idol but also to many.”
Nagsilbi si Villafuerte bilang public servant nang 40 taon.
Tatlong termino siya naupo bilang congressman mula 2004 hanggang 2013 habang 15 taon naman bilang gobernador.
