DepEd, nakakuha ng ‘satisfactory mark’ sa 2020 COA report
Nakasunod nang maayos ang Department of Education (DepEd) sa accounting standards ng Commission of Audit (COA) para sa CY 2020.
“Based on this year’s audit report, the Department has delivered an increase in the implementation of the compliance report through the substantial decrease in the misstatements noted by the Commission,” pahayag ni Secretary Leonor Briones.
Maliban sa nakuhang ‘satisfactory mark’, naisagawa ito ng kagawaran nang mas mabuti kumpara sa nakaraang taon.
Paliwanag ni Undersecretary for Finance Annalyn Sevilla, naitala bilang recording errors ang ilang misstatements na nakita ng COA sa CY 2021 Consolidated Annual Audit Report.
Itinama na ito ng DepEd kasunod ng mga rekomendasyon ng auditing agency.
Ani Sevilla, nakakita ng mga paraan ang kagawaran para maabot ang accounting standards at budget utilization noong 2020 sa kabila ng mga limitasyon ng COVID-19 pandemic, tulad ng limitadong tauhan at mobility dahil sa work-from-home at skeletal work arrangements.
Nalampasan din aniya ng DepEd ang mga pagsubok sa procurement at logistics kasama na ang timeline constraints.
Inihayag din ni Sevilla na nasa 93 porsyento ang utilization rate ng Bayanihan 1 Act fund matapos palawigin ng Kongreso ang validity nito.
Nagpamahagi na ang kagawaran ng laptops at sim cards na may connectivity load sa mga tauhan bilang parte ng implementasyon ng Bayanihan 2.
“DepEd, as always, remains committed to serving its mandate, and as such is working diligently to address concerns and gather feedback on its program implementation. We have been coordinating closely with COA and as a result of this, we are thankful to them to have our explanations included under Annex D in the CAAR 2020 report,” saad ni Briones.
