Sen. Zubiri: Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, okay na sa mga batang edad 12 pataas
Pinasalamatan agad ni Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri si Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director General Eric Domingo sa mabilis na pag-apruba na maiturok ang Moderna COVID-19 vacccine sa mga batang edad 12 hanggang 17.
“We now have Moderna and Pfizer vaccines that we could tap when we start opening up our vaccination program with this age group,” sabi ni Zubiri.
Ayon sa senador, lubhang nakakatakot ang mga sumusulpot na bagong strains ng COVID-19 at marami sa mga tinatamaan ay mga bata.
“We will be able to have one more layer of protection for our kids, apart from the current health protocols that we are enforcing. Hopefully this move will not just protect our children, but also help us reach herd immunity more quickly,” dagdag pa ni Zubiri.
Kasabay nito ang kanyang apela sa Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) na payagan na ang pagbakuna sa mga 12 hanggang 17-anyos.
Una nang inaprubahan ng FDA ang pag-amyenda sa emergency use authorization (EUA) ng Pfizer vaccine para maiturok na ito sa nabanggit na age category.
