Koreanong wanted dahil sa voice phishing, arestado sa Mandaluyong
Naaresto ng mga operatiba ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang Korean national na wanted sa voice phishing.
Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, nahuli ng mga miyembro ng BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) si Park Voram, 39-anyos, sa isang hotel building sa Mandaluyong.
Magkatuwang sa operasyon ang local at Korean authorities sa pag-aresto kay Park na isang undocumented alien at wanted sa Korea dahil sa fraud sa paglabag sa Article 347-(1) ng Criminal Act of Korea.
Ayon kay BI FSU Chief Rendel Sy, nakatanggap sila ng impormasyon mula sa South Korea ukol sa kinakaharap nitong arrest warrant na inilabas ng Gwangju District Court.
Napaulat na miyembro umano si Park ng isang large-scale voice phising organization na nanlilinlang ng libu-libong biktima sa pamamagitan ng pagpapanggap bilang isang loan officer sa isang financial institution.
“The arrest of these fugitives show that despite the pandemic, we are serious in our drive to locate, arrest, and deport these illegal aliens,” pahayag ni Morente.
Dagdag nito, “We will not allow these undesirable aliens to hide here to avoid facing responsibility for their crimes.”
Pansamantalang nakakulong si Park sa Warden Facility ng ahensya sa Bicutan, Taguig habang hinihintay ang deportation nito.
