Sen. Cynthia Villar itinutulak ang iba pang lugar na kilalaning ‘protected areas’
Iginiit ni Senator Cynthia Villar ang istriktong pagpapatupad ng mga batas para mapangalagaan ng husto ang kalikasan sa bansa.
“We are very happy to come up with this legislation ensuring protection for more areas in our megadiverse country. We have to take action about ist protection because any damage or loss will cost too much for a country such as ours,” ayon sa namumuno sa Senate Committee on Environment and Natural Resources.
Isa sa mga nais niyang maipatupad ng husto ay ang National Integrated Protected Areas System (NIPAS) alinsunod sa RA No. 11038 o ang Expanded NIPAS Act of 2018.
Paliwanag ni Villar layon ng batas na matiyak na matutunghayan pa ng mga susunod na henerasyon ang lahat ng mga halaman at hayop na natatangi lang sa Pilipinas.
Dapat aniya na gawin ito sa pamamagitan ng pagbuo ng komprehensibong sistema ng integrated Protected Areas (PAs).
Ito ang dahilan kayat nais ng senadora na mapadami pa ang lugar na kikilalaning protected areas, na nagsisilbing natural na tirahan ng mga hayop at halaman.
