Pumanaw na si dating Las Piñas Mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar sa edad na 74.
“It is with profound sorrow that our family announces the passing of my husband and our patriarch, former Mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar,” saad sa inilabas na pahayag ni Mayor Imelda Aguilar at kanilang pamilya.
Sinabi ni Mayor Imelda na pumanaw ang kaniyang asawa matapos ma-confine sa St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City bunsod ng heart ailment bandang 4:12, Biyernes ng madaling-araw (August 20).
“Nene, it pains all of us that you are no longer with us, but we know that you have accomplished your mission in this world, not only to your family and loved ones, but to the hundreds of families you have served and supported throughout your years in service,” pahayag nito.
Bilang kasalukuyang alkalde ng Las Piñas, sinabi ni Mayor Imelda na magsisilbing inspirasyon sa kaniya ang iniwang legasiya at serbisyo publiko ng kaniyang asawa nang maging mayor nang 18 taon sa naturang lungsod.
“Your years as the local chief executive have led to the unprecedented growth of our city. We will miss you very much,” dagdag nito.
