Comelec ibasura ang mga panawagan sa voter’s registration extension
Hindi pinaboran ng Comission on Elections en banc ang mga panawagan na palawigin pa ang pagpaparehistro ng mga botante.
Sinabi ni Comelec spokesman James Jimenez ang desisyon ay base sa pagkunsidera sa paghahanda ng komisyon para sa 2022 national and local elections.
“The En Banc — citing concerns about the timeline of preparations for the 2022 National and Local Elections, as well as significant continuing apprehensions about the health and safety of the public and of COMELEC personnel — decided against extending the voter registration period,” sabi ni Jimenez.
Samantala, ibinahagi naman ni Jimenez na pinalawig naman ng Commission en banc ang oras ng pagpaparehistro.
Gayundin, maari na rin magpa-rehistro sa araw ng Sabado at kahit holidays hanggang sa pagtatapos ng voter’s registration sa Setyembre 30.
