DFA, DOLE kinalampag para sa pagpapa-uwi ng mga Filipino na nasa Afghanistan

Hinimok ni Senator Francis Tolentino ang Departments of Foreign Affairs at Labor and Employment na madaliin ang pagpapa-uwi ng mga Filipino na nasa Afghanistan.

Ginawa ni Tolentino ang pakiusap matapos lumayas si President Ashraf Ghani bago makubkob ng Taliban ang Kabul, ang kapitolyo ng Afghanistan.

“As the humanitarian, political, and security crisis in Afghanistan continues to worsen, the need to immediately repatriate the remaining Filipinos in Afghanistan becomes even more urgent as each day passes,” sabi ni Tolentino.

Iniulat ng Philippine Embassy sa Pakistan na may natitira pang 200 Filipino sa Afghanistan at marami sa kanila ay hotel managers, professors, accountants, company managers at engineers.

Base naman sa huling inilabas na pahayag ng DFA may 75 Filipino ang naghihintay na lang na sila ay maibalik sa Pilipinas.

Paalala ni Tolentino base sa RA 8042 o ang Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995, dapat ay magtulungan ang DFA at DOLE para matiyak ang kaligtasan ng mga overseas Filipinos at kasama na dito ang pagpapabalik sa kanila sa Pilipinas kung kakailanganin.

Dagdag pa ng senador, prayoridad ng kalihim ng DFA at Philippine Foreign Service Posts ang kaligtasan at kapakanan ng mga Filipino na nasa ibang bansa.
