Pinabulaanan ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority ang ulat na nagkasundo ang Metro Manila mayors para palawigin pa ng hanggang August30 ang umiiral na enhanced community quarantine sa National Capital Region dahil sa banta ng COVID-19 Delta variant.
Sa naturang ulat, si Paranaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez umano ang source ng balita.
Pero ayon kay MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos, nakausap niya si Olivarez at sinabing wala siyang inilalabas na pahayag lalo na at wala namang pagpupulong na nagaganap ang Metro Manila mayors.
“The mayors are focused on monitoring the number of COVID-19 cases on their respective jurisdictions, vaccination rollout, and distribution of ayuda or financial aid to low-income families affected by the ECQ which will last until August 20,” pahayag ni Abalos.
Sinabi pa ni Abalos na ano man ang maging rekomendasyon ng Metro Manila Mayos Council ay nakabase sa data at pag-aaral ng mga eksperto.
Umiiral ang ECQ sa Metro Manila mula August 6 hanggang 20, 2021.
