Pagpatay ng NPA sa isang sundalo sa Capiz, iimbestigahan ng CHR

Mariing kinondena ng Commission on Human Rights (CHR) ang pagdukot at pagpatay ng New People’s Army kay Corporal Frederick Villasis sa Barangay Lahug, Tapaz, Capiz.

Ayon kay CHR spokesperson Attorney Jacqueline Ann de Guia, magsasagawa ang kanilang hanay ng sariling imbestigasyon para mabigyan ng hustisya ang pagkamatay ni Villasis.

Sakay si Villasis ng motorsiko kasama ang isang sibilyan at patungo sa munisipyo ng Tapaz nang harangin ng 40 armadong lalaki.

Tinangay si Villasis at iniwan ang sibilyan.

Nabatid na bago tuluyang pinatay, tinali ang kamay ni Villasis at labis na pinahirapan.

Nakikiramay ang CHR sa naulilang pamilya ni Villasis.

“Such senseless violence is an affront to human rights, particularly to the sanctity of human life. We urge the government to apply the force of law in ensuring that the perpetrators are held accountable for these transgressions,” pahayag ng CHR.
