Malakanyang sa mga atletang Pinoy sa Tokyo Olympics: Go for Gold
Go for gold!
Ito ang naging mensahe ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang sa mga Filipinong atleta na lumalaban ngayon sa Tokyo Olympics.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, binabati ng Palasyo sina Filipina boxer Nesthy Petecio, pole vaulter EJ Obiena, at Filipino boxer Carlo Paalam.
Tinalo ni Petecio ang pambato ng Italy na si Irma Testa.
Hindi rin pinaporma ni Paalam ang pambato ng Algeria na si Mohamed Flissi sa Round of 16 ng men’s flyweight division.
Matapos ang dalawang attempt, naging matagumpay naman si Obiena sa ikatlong attempt sa pole vault.
“We are one with the Filipino people in rejoicing the performance of our athletes in today’s schedule of games of the Tokyo Olympics,” pahayag ni Roque Jr.
“We congratulate Nesthy Petecio in winning the women’s boxing featherweight semifinals of the Tokyo Olympics and securing a second Olympic medal for the Philippines; EJ Obiena for leaping into the finals of the Men’s Pole Vault; and Carlo Paalam for clinching a quarter-finals ticket in the men’s boxing flyweight class,” dagdag ni Roque.
