Pinoy boxer na si Carlo Paalam pasok sa quarterfinals sa Tokyo Olympics
Pasok na sa quarterfinals ang pambato ng Pilipinas sa boksing sa 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Ito ay matapos talunin ni Carlo Paalam ang boksingero ng Algeria na si Mohamed Flissi sa Round of 16 ng men’s flyweight division.
Hindi na pinaporma ng 23 anyos na si Paalam ang kalaban sa iskor na 30-27 at makuha ang unanimous decision ng mga judges.
Nabatid nas a third round pa lamang, nagpakawala na ng malalakas na suntok si Paalam dahilan para gumiwang ang tuhod ni Flissi.
Dahil sa pagkakapanalo ni Paalam, dalawang boksingero na ang pasok sa quarterfinal round.
Lalaban ngayong tanghali si wimen’s featherweight Nesthy Petecio.
