Red tape sa PUV modernization pinapuputol ni Sen. Migz Zubiri

Itinuro ni Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri ang ‘bureaucratic red tape’ na nagsisilbing balakid para maitodo ang modernisasyon ng sektor ng pampublikong transportasyon sa bansa.

Sa pagsasalita niya sa Transport Cooperative Visayas Congress sa Cebu City hindi napigilan ni Zubiri na magpahayag ng pagkadismaya para sa modernisasyon ng mga pampublikong sasakyan.

“The transport is facing a real paradigm change, in terms of PUV modernization. But bureaucracy is making it unnecessarily hard for them to effectively modernize,” aniya.

Binanggit nito ang mga hamon para lang maka-utang ang mga PUV operator sa mga kinauukulang ahensiya ng gobyerno.

Gayundin aniya, nakaka-ubos ng oras ang pagsunod sa documentary requirements partikular na nag pagkakaroon ng Local Public Transportation Route Plan (LPTRP), na hinihingi ng Development Bank of the Philippines at Land Bank of the Philippines.

Nangako si Zubiri na kikilos siya para mapadali ang pag-utang ng mga kooperatiba sa gobyerno.

“As the author of the Ease of Doing Business Act, I want to make the modernization process as swift and easy as possible, especially since the three-year consolidation process for the PUV Modernization Program has already technically ended last April,” banggit pa nito.
