P50-M halaga ng ilegal na sigarilyo, sinira ng BOC

Winasak ng Bureau of Customs Port of Cagayan de Oro (CDO) ang libu-libong ilegal na sigarilyo sa loob ng isang pasilidad ng Terra Cycliq Corporation sa bahagi ng Barangay Mantibugao sa Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, araw ng Miyerkules, July 28, 2021.

Tinatayang nagkakahalaga ng P50 milyon ang mga sigarilyo.

Gamit ang road roller at backhoe, sinira ang 1,700 master cases o 85,000 reams ng sigarilyo na may tatak na “Two Moon”, “Mighty”, “Marvel” at “Royal”.

Mula sa China, dumating ang shipment na naglalaman ng mga kontrabando sa Mindanao Container Terminal (MCT) sa Tagoloan noong September 18, 2021.

Naka-consign ang naturang shipment, na unang idineklara bilang office furniture, sa Denian Dry Goods Trading.

Sa ilalim sa eksaminasyon ng Customs Examiner, katuwang ang Customs Intelligence Investigative Service (CIIS) at CDO Field Station and Enforcement and Security Service (ESS) CDO District, nadiskubre ang mga ilegal na sigarilyo.

Makakaharap ang consignee ng kasong paglabag sa Section 1400 “Misdeclaration of Goods Description” ng Republic Act No. 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).
