3rd regular session ng Senado, Kamara binuksan na
Nagbukas na ng kanilang 3rd regular session ang Mababa at Mataas na Kapulungan ng Kongreso ilang oras bago ang huling State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte. sa araw ng Lunes, July 26, 2021.
Binuksan ang sesyon kung saan 14 senador ang physically present habang walo ang dumalo sa video conference.
Sa pagbubukas ng sesyon, inihayag ni Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III na tiwala siyang malalampasan ang nararanasang pandemya.
“We will continuously seek to expose corruption in public service and direct the searchlight of one of our committees towards the dark corners of our bureaucracy where corruption and injustice thrive unnoticed,” pahayag ni Sotto at aniya pa, “We will also unceasingly address the usual concerns of the common man for food, shelter, education, and medical help.”
Sa Kamara naman, 298 kongresista ang present sa unang araw ng 3rd regular session ng 18th Congress kung saan 46 ang physically present habang ang ilan ay dumalo sa pamamagitan ng video conferencing.
Sinabi ni House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco na buo ang suporta ng Kongreso sa legislative agenda ng administrasyong Duterte sa pagpapasa ng mga batas para sa economic development.
Nagbigay-pugay din ang mambabatas sa mga health worker na nagsasakripisyo sa gitna ng pandemya.
Nagpasalamat din si Velasco sa Pangulo sa pagtitiyak na walang lugar ang korupsyon sa gobyerno.
“Salamat sa matibay at walang sindak at pagkabig na pagpapatupad ng ating mga batas upang magkaroon ng katahimikan at kapayapaan sa ating mga pamayanan,” saad ni Velasco.
Pisikal na ibibigay ng Punong Ehekutibo ang kanilang huling SONA sa House of Representatives plenary hall sa Lunes ng hapon.
