Grupo ng PWDs, Civil Society pinuri ang Senate Bill 1907

Tiwala ang Civil Society Network for Education Reforms (E-Net Philippines) na kapag naging ganap ng batas ang Senate Bill No. 1907 wala ng bata na may kapansanan ang mapapag-iwanan sa pag-aaral.

Ayon kay Prof. Flora Arellano, ang pangulo ng E-Net Phils., base sa naging paliwanag ni Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, ang awtor ng panukalang batas, layon niya na matiyak na magkakaroon ng pantay na oportunidad at serbisyo para sa mga mag-aaral na may kapansanan.

Dagdag pa ni Arellano masigasig na itinutulak ni Gatchalian ang pagpasa ng inihain niyang Instituting Services for Learners with Disabilities (LWDs) bilang suporta sa Inclusive Education Act.

Paliwanag din ni Gatchalian sa isang forum, kapag naging ganap na batas ang SB 1907 kinakailangan na maging handa na ang lahat ng mga public at private schools sa bansa na tumanggap ng mga batang may kapansanan.

“Aside from the school preparing themselves to accept learners with disabilities, the bill would also require each city and municipality to put up at least one Inclusive Learning Resource Center (ILRC) for learners with disabilities. All existing special education centers would then be converted into ILRCs that will provide additional free service to our learners,” sabi pa ng senador.

Ibinahagi nito sa forum na halos 100 porsiyento ng ipapasa sa Senado ang kanyang panukala.
