Pangulong Duterte hindi makikipagtulungan sa ICC probe

Hindi nababago ang paninindigan ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang na hindi makikipagtulungan si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa ginagawang imbestigasyon ng International Criminal Court kaugnay sa sa crime against humanity na isinampa laban sa kanya.

Ito ay kahit na nagpalabas na ng desisyon ang Korte Suprema na obligado pa rin ang Pilipinas na makipagtulungan sa ICC kahit na kumalas na ang bansa.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, hindi maoobliga ng ICC ang Pilipinas.

“Unfortunately, the lack of enforcement mechanism cannot compel the Philippines to cooperate when the President has clearly said we will not do so,” pahayag ni Roque.

Sinabi pa ni Roque na na-dismiss na rin ang withdrawal ng Pilipinas.

“No change because as obiter and petition dismissed. So iyon ang importante.. In analyzing the effect of a decision, na-grant ba o na-dismiss. Ang gusto nila mabalewala iyong withdrawal, hindi po nabalewala, so it is dismissed. Panalo po ang gobyerno,” pahayag ni Roque.
