Mega quarantine facility sa Zamboanga City, nai-turnover na
Natapos na ng Department of Public Works and Highways has (DPWH) ang pag-convert ng dating Zamboanga Convention Center sa Pasonanca, Zamboanga City.
Kasunod ito ng hakbang para madagdagan ang pasilidad para sa isolation ng mga COVID-19 patient sa Western Mindanao.
Ayon kay DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, na-convert ang convention center bilang mega quarantine facility na may 188 kama para sa asymptomatic at moderate COVID-19 patients.
Bilang representante ng kalihim, pinangunahan ni Undersecretary at DPWH Task Force for Augmentation of Local and National Health Facilities Head Emil Sadain ang inagurasyon at ceremonial turnover ng Zamboanga Convention Center Quarantine Facility sa lokal na pamahalaan ng Zamboanga City sa araw ng Lunes, July 12, 2021.
“DPWH construction of quarantine facilities using available spaces like this convention center will give our hospitals more capacity to handle severe and critical patients and made up for the shortage of hospital beds because of the pandemic,” saad ni Sadain.
Sa ngayon, nakapagtayo na ang DPWH, sa pamamagitan ng Task Force for Augmentation of Health Facilities, ng 733 units ng COVID-19 facilities na may 27,113 beds sa buong bansa, 668 quarantine/isolation facilities na may 25,506 beds, 51 off-site dormitories na may 1,320 beds, at 14 modular hospital na may 287 beds.
