Nakumpleto na ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang konstruksyon ng concrete pier at back-up area ng Albuera Port sa Leyte.
“Isa ‘ho ang Albuera Port sa Leyte sa ipinagmamalaking port development project na natapos ng Department of Transportation sa Visayas,” pahayag ni Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade.
Nagsisilbing social tourism port ang naturang pantalan.
Dahil dito, nakatutulong ang pantalan sa pagpapaunlad ng mga lokal na mangingisda, mangangalakal, at trabahante sa naturang probinsya.
Maliban dito, nakatutulong din ang pantalan sa pag-decongest ng Ormoc Port sa parehong probinsya.
Bunsod nito, inaasahang magtutuluy-tuloy ang ekonomiya, turismo, at pangkabuhayan sa Eastern Visayas.
