P90 milyong halaga ng mga pekeng sigarilyo sinira sa Cebu
Aabot sa P90 milyong halaga ng peke at smuggled na sigarilyo ang sinira ng Bureau of Customs sa Taiheiyo Cement Philippines Incorporated facility sa Cebu.
Nabatid na pawang may tatak na “Mighty”, “Marvels” at “Fort” ang mga nakumpiskang sigrailyo na una nang naharang noong June 2021 sa magkahiwalay na shipment mula sa China.
Ayon sa BOC, ideneklara ang mga pekeng sigarilyo bilang table panels, cabinet at mga upuan.
“We have partnered with TCPI for the use of its facilities in compliance with Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero’s directive to dispose forfeited cigarettes through burning in the furnaces of cement plants,” pahayag ni BOC Deputy District Collector for Operations Marc Anthony Patriarca.
Noong nakaraang taoon lamang, aabot sa P373 milyong halaga ng mga pekeng sigarilyo ang sinira ng BOC.
