Operasyon ng BI sa SBIA, naibalik na

Naibalik na ang operasyon ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa Subic Bay International Airport (SBIA), isang dekada matapos alisin ang kanilang operasyon nang mahinto ang international flights sa dating U.S. naval base.

Ayon kay Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, bumalik ang kanilang operasyon sa SBIA noong Miyerkules nang lumapag ang Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight, unang international passenger flight na dumating sa nasabing paliparan simula 2011.

Lulan ng PAL flight ang 300 repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) mula sa Saudi Arabia.

Sinalubong ni Morente ang pagbabalik ng international flights sa Subic.

Aniya, ‘encouraging sign’ ito na mayroong pag-asa na unti-unting bumalik ang international travel.

Tiniyak din nito na nagpaplano ang PAL at iba pang airline company na magkaroon ng kaparehong flight sa Subic.

Lagi aniyang handa ang ahensya na mag-deploy ng kinakailangang dami ng tauhan para sa maayos na immigration arrival formalities sa mga pasahero.

Sinabi ni Atty. Carlos Capulong, hepe ng BI Port Operations Division, na ipinag-utos na ang on-call deployment sa grupo na binubuo ng immigration officers, immigration supervisors, at intelligence agents ang nakatalaga sa Clark airport.

“As of now, it is only PAL that has informed us of its intention to mount flights to Subic. We were told that this July there are four flights from Saudi Arabia that will be landing there,” pahayag ni Capulong.
