Inilunsad ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang kampanya laban sa fixers.
Sa inilabas na abiso, binigyang-diin ni Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente na kinokondena ng ahensya ang anumang uri ng fixing.
Wala aniyang opisyal o empleyado ng ahensya ang awtorisadong makiisa sa mga kahalitulad na aktibidad.
Ani Morente, ipinagbabawal sa BI personnel ang pag-aalok ng mabilis na transaksyon kapalit ng bayad o anumang konsiderasyon sa pag-avail ng serbisyo ng ahensya.
Babala naman ng BI chief, sinumang mapatunayang sangkot sa fixing ay may parusang pagkakakulong ng hindi bababa sa anim na taon o multang P200,000.
Inabisuhan din ni Morente ang mga nabiktima ng fixers na agad i-report ang kanilang karanasan sa Immigration Helpline sa pamamagitan ng pagpapadala ng email sa [email protected], o via Committee on Good Governance (CGG) ng BI at administrative division.
Maaring maabot ang CGG via [email protected] habang ang administrative division ay sa [email protected].
“Those who wish to report incidence of fixing must submit a written complaint mentioning, among others, the name of the fixer, location of the office, date, time, type of transaction, narration of events, and the signature of the complainant,” ani Morente.
Samantala, nauna nang bumuo si Morente ng six-man BI Anti-Corruption Committee na bubuo ng mga reporma at magpapatupad ng mga programa na makatutulong para mabawasan at tuluyang maalis ang koruspyon sa ahensya.
Ipinag-utos din sa komite na makipag-ugnayan sa Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) para sa anti-corruption programs at activities ng BI.
“We have likewise coordinated with other law enforcement agencies to initiate investigations against fixers pretending to be employees of the BI,” pahayag nito.
