Modernisasyon ng air assets ng AFP dapat nang madaliin, ayon kay Sen. Migz Zubiri
Dahil sa pagbagsak ng C-130 transport plane ng Philippine Air Force (PAF) sa Patikul, Sulu, hiniling ni Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri na mapabilis na ang modernisasyon ng puwersang pang-himpapawid ng bansa.
Aniya nalungkot siya na halos 50 bagong sundalo at may mga sibilyan pang nadamay sa nangyaring trahedya noong araw ng Linggo.
“I am unfortunately starting to sound like a broken record in my call for modern aircraft and training equipment for our troops. I am so saddened by the loss of such brave and patriotic individuals in such a senseless death. That’s what angers me the most. We’re losing so many great men and women because of poor equipment and outdated aircraft,” diin ni Zubiri.
Umapila ang senador sa Budget Department na maghanap ng pondo para bumili ng mga moderno at bagong aircrafts nang mapalitan na ang lumang air assets ng PAF.
Sinabi nito, nakipagpulong siya sa mga opisyal ng PAF nang bumagsak ang isang Huey helicopter sa Bukidnon noong nakaraang Enero na ikinasawi ng pitong sundalo.
Kasunod ng pulong ay umapila na siya sa modernisyon ng PAF para maiwasan na ang mga trahedya, kasama na rin dito ang trainings ng mga piloto para sa lahat ng uri ng aircrafts.
