Mga bangko inatasang maghigpit matapos kumalat ang personal na impormasyon ng mga botante

bangko-sentral-0309Inatasan ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ang lahat ng bangko sa bansa na higpitan ang kanilang know-your-customer (KYC) practices matapos ma-hack ang website ng Commission on Elections at kumalat ang mahahalagang impormasyon ng mga botante.

Sa memorandum ng BSP, lahat ng banking financial services (BSFIs) ay pinapayuhang humingi ng dagdag na impormasyon at pruweba sa kanilang customers para matiyak ang identity ng isang indibidwal.

Ayon kay Deputy Governor Nestor A. Espenilla Jr., posible kasing ang impormasyon na kinakailangan para sa verification ng isang customer ay kabilang sa kumapat na mga personal information sa website na wehaveyourdata.com.

“Customer identification procedures of BSFIs that rely on static information which may be obtained from the disclosed Comelec records should be supplemented by requests for additional proof or secondary information to establish the true identity of new and existing clients,” ayon kay Espenilla.

Sa ilalim ng KYC process, ang mga bangko ay inaaasatan sa ilalim ng batas na i-verify muna ang identification ng kanilang customers.
