Dating Senate Pres. Manny Villar, nakikidalamhati sa pagpanaw ni ex-Pres. Noynoy Aquino
Nagpahayag din ng pakikidalamhati si dating Senate President Manny Villar sa pamilya ni dating Pangulong Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
Ikinalulungkot aniya ng kanilang pamilya ang pagpanaw ng dating Pangulo.
“President Noynoy was a formidable political adversary at one point but he was a Filipino leader that I respected,” saad ni Villar.
Sa kabila ng kanilang pagkakaiba, hanga aniya siya sa tapang at vision ng dating pangulo para magserbisyo sa publiko.
Isinantabi aniya nila ang kanilang pagkakaiba upang magtulungan sa paglilingkod sa mamamayang Pilipino noong 2013.
Aniya, “But personally, and more significantly, I admired him greatly when he came and visited the wake of my mother in 2015. At a time of profound sadness and grief, he offered kind words of comfort, perhaps drawing from his own experience when his mother, former President Corazon Aquino died.”
“It is the same words of comfort that we offer to his loved ones who are grieving and to a grateful nation mourning the loss of a Filipino who served his country well,” dagdag pa nito.
Kasabay ng pakikiramay, hiniling ni Villar na pagbigyan ang kahilingan ng pamilya Aquino na respeto at privacy.
Pumanaw si dating Pangulong Noynoy Aquino sa edad na 61.
