P1-B halaga ng mga pekeng kagamitan, nasamsam sa Makati
Sa pamamagitan ng pinaigting na anti-counterfeit efforts, nasamsam ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang ilang pekeng kagamitan sa Magallanes, Makati city noong June 14, 2021.
Isinagawa ang operasyon ng isang composite team ng BOC Intelligence Group Intellectual Property Rights Division(IG-IPRD), katuwang ang Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) Port of Manila District Office at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Armado ng Letter of Authority (LOA) na pirmado ni BOC Commissioner Rey Guerrero, nag-inspeksyon ang mga awtoridad sa storage facility.
Dito nadiskubre ang mga pekeng produkto na may mga tatak na LACOSTE, MICHAEL KORS, MACBETH, ADIDAS, CHANEL, GIVENCHY, OXYGEN, GUESS, COACH, GUCCI, WRANGLER, FUBU, ZARA, REEBOK, LEVI’S, HILFIGER, JAG, TRIBAL, BENCH, CALVIN KLEIN, at ESPRIT.
Sinabi ng ahensya na tinatayang aabot sa P1 bilyon ang halaga ng mga pekeng kagamitan.
Magsasagawa ng imbestigasyon ang BOC sa posibleng paglabag sa Section 118 (f) ng RA 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) at RA 8293 o Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (IPCP).
