Chel Diokno, tatakbo sa 2022 polls pero hindi pa tiyak ang posisyon
“Yes, to be clear: I will run in 2022.”
Inanunsiyo na ng human rights lawyer na si Chel Diokno na tatakbo siya sa 2022 elections.
Ito ay ilang araw matapos ideklara ng opposition coalition na 1Sambayan ang mga nominee nila para sa pagka-presidente at bise presidente.
“It’s difficult now to make a final decision about what position, and I never aspired for President of VP, which 1Sambayan has nominated me for,” pahayag nito.
Ani Diokno, importante aniyang magkaroon ng boses ang mga ordinaryong Filipino at kabataan.
“Our justice system is not gonna get fixed unless people in power see the problem and do something about it,” ani Diokno.
Dagdag pa nito, “I’ve been a lawyer for threee decades, everyday I work on my Free Legal Helpdesk, and I’ve seen it firsthand. I know how we should fix our justice system.”
Matatandaang tumakbo si Diokno noong 2019 midterm elections bilang senador sa ilalim ng Otso Diretso ngunit hindi nagwagi.
Maliban kay Diokno, kabilang din sa nominees ng 1Sambayan sina Vice President Leni Robredo, Sen. Grace Poe, dating Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, CIBAC party-list Rep. Eduardo Villanueva, at Batangas Rep. Vilma Santos-Recto.
Nagsabi naman sina Poe at Santos-Recto na wala silang balak tumakbo sa susunod na halalan.
