Resolusyon para parangalan si Yuka Saso inihain ni Sen. Sonny Angara sa Senado
Naghain ng resolusyon si Senator Sonny Angara sa Senado bilang parangal kay Yuka Saso sa pagkakapanalo nito sa US Women’s Open Golf Championship.
Nabanggit din sa Senate Resolution No. 755 na si Saso ang kauna-unahang Filipina na nasungkit ang titulo at ang kanyang pagkakapanalo ay bunga ng pagsusumikap at matinding determinasyon.
Sinabi ni Angara na sa parangal na ibinigay ni 19-anyos na Bulakenya ay nakuha din nito ang puso at isipan ng mga Filipino.
“Yuka is an inspiration to all Filipino golfers and will surely encourage more young girls and boys to take up the sport here in the country,” dagdag ng senador.
Lumikha din aniya ito ng matinding interes sa golf ng maraming Filipino.
“Again another Filipina athlete has made her mark in the international sporting arena. We have Hidilyn Diaz, who won silver in the Rio Olympics and is vying for another medal in the Tokyo Games. Our tennis rising star Alex Eala, who is making her name in the under-18 tournaments, including a semifinals appearance in Roland Garros last year. Now with Saso winning the U.S. Women’s Open, the whole world is now noticing the quality of athletes the Philippines is producing and I believe even more will emerge sooner than later,” banggit pa ni Angara.
Pinasalamatan din ng namumuno sa Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas ang suportang ibinigay kay Saso ni Enrique Razon, ng ICTSI at sa MVP Sports Foundation ni Sen. Manny Pacquiao.
