P38-M halaga ng smuggled na sigarilyo, nasamsam ng BOC
Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs – Manila International Container Port (BOC-MICP) ang milyun-milyong halaga ng smuggled na sigarilyo noong June 11, 2021.
Naglabas si MICP District Collector Romeo Rosales ng Pre-lodgement Control Order matapos makatanggap ng intelligence information mula sa Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) nito.
Naka-consign ang shipment sa Green Nature Alliance Ventures.
Nadiskubre sa eksaminasyon ang 1,090 master cases ng sigarilyo na may tatak na Marvel, Mighty at Astro.
Tinatayang aabot sa P38.1 milyon ang halaga nito.
Inilabas ang Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD) laban sa kontrabando kasunod ng paglabag sa Section 1400 na may kinalaman sa Section 1113 ng Republic Act No. 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tarrif Act (CMTA), at National Tobacco Authority (NTA) law and regulations.
