2.27M doses ng Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines tinanggap ng Pilipinas
Nakatanggap ang bansa ng 2.27 million doses ng Pfizer – BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines mula sa COVAX facility ng World Health Organization (WHO).
Sinabi ni Health Sec. Francisco Duque III ang mga bakuna ay inilaan sa mga nasa A1 hanggang A3 categories, medical frontliners, senior citizens at may comorbidities.
Bukod kay Duque, sinalubong din nina vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr., WHO Rep. Rabindra Abeyasinghe at US Embassy Charge d’ Affaires John Law ang mga bakuna.
Magdadala ng tig-210,600 doses sa Metro Cebu at Metro Davao, samantalang ang matitira ay ipamamahagi sa Metro Manila, Laguna, Bulacan, Rizal at Cavite, bukod pa sa mga lugar na may matataas na kaso ng COVID 19.
Ayon naman kay Abeyasinghe napakahalaga na mabakunahan ang mga nasa A1 – A3 categories para maprotektahan sila na makaranas ng severe symptoms o kaya ay mamatay kapag dinapuan sila ng 2019 coronavirus.
Noong nakaraang Mayo 10, tumanggap ang Pilipinas ng 193,000 doses ng Pfizer vaccine mula din sa COVAX facility.
