Pfizer COVID 19 vaccines pinayagan na ng FDA na maiturok sa 12 – 15 anyos
Inamyendahan ng Food and Drug Authority (FDA) ang ibinigay na emergency use authorization (EUA) sa Pfizer – BioNTech Covid 19 vaccines matapos aprubahan ang pagturok nito sa mga nasa edad 12 – 15.
Sinabi ni FDA Dir. Gen. Eric Domingo noong Mayo 26 hiniling ng Pfizer na maamyendahan ang kanilang EUA para maiturok na rin ang kanilang bakuna sa mga menor-de-edad.
“After due consideration, the Food and Drug Administration hereby revises the EUA granted to Pfizer-BioNTech COVID 19 Vaccine to reflect requested change in the indication,” ang nakasaad sa bagong EUA document ng Pfizer-BioNTech.
Paalala lang ng FDA na ang Pfizer vaccine ay maari lang maiturok ng vaccination providers at gagamitin lang para maiwasan na magkaroon ng COVID 19 ang mga may edad 12 pataas.
Nilinaw naman ni Health Usec. Ma. Rosario Vergeire bagamat may pagbabago sa EUA ng Pfizer, hindi magbabago ang vaccine prioritization ng gobyerno.
“While we welcome more vaccines that are approved for children and adolescents, due to limited vaccine supply, our vaccination strategy remains the same — prioritize the vulnerable and adhere to our prioritization framework,” sabi pa ni Vergeire.
Dagdag pa niya kapag maayos na ang suplay ng bakuna sa bansa ay pag-aaralan na ang pagpapabakuna sa mga menor de edad.
