Pagsirit ng online child abuse cases pinasisisilip ni Sen. Leila de Lima sa Kongreso

Nais ni Senator Leila de Lima na maimbestigahan sa Senado ang paglobo ng kaso ng online sexual exploitation of children (OSEC) kasabay ng pandemya.

 

Katuwiran ni de Lima sa paghahain niya ng Senate Resolution No 745, nais niyang malaman ang mga ugat  at dahilan ng pagdami ng mga kaso.

 

Dagdag pa niya bagamat kinakailangan na mapagtuunan ng pansin ang pagpapatupad ng health protocols dahil sa pandemya hindi pa rin dapat mapabayaan ang pagbibigay proteksyon sa mga bata at kabataan.

 

“These sexual predators have thrived in this pandemic for far too long at the expense of the innocence and purity of our children. A full investigation must thus be carried out where all those who contribute to the growing trend including online platforms that allow them to proliferate or condone their proliferation by acquiescence, are prosecuted,” dagdag pa ng senadora.

 

Una na rin kinilala ang Pilipinas bilang sentro sa buong daigdig ng livestream sexual trafficking of children base sa datos ng US-based National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at Philippine Internet Crimes Against Children Center.

 

Ibinahagi na rin ng DOJ na simula noong Marso hanggang Mayo 2020, 202,605 kaso ng online sexual exploitation of children (OSEC) o 265% pagtaas kumpara sa katulad na panahon noong 2019.

 

Ayon pa kay de Lima kinakailangan din na paigtingin pa ng gobyerno ang research at online monitoring systems para malabanan ang paglaganap pa ng pang-aabusong sekswal sa mga bata sa pamamagitan ng internet.
