Bagong flood control project, inilunsad ng DPWH sa Alaminos
Inilunsad ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ang bagong flood control project sa Alaminos City, Pangasinan.
Ayon kay DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, makatutulong ang bagong proyekto sa bahagi ng Barangay Pogo upang hindi na makaranas ng pagbaha ang mga residente sa nasabing komunidad.
“This 356-meter flood control project aims to mitigate the overflowing of Alaminos River not only to safeguard agricultural lands and products, but more importantly, to protect lives and properties of Pangasinense,” pahayag ng kalihim.
Base sa kaniyang report, sinabi ni DPWH Pangasinan First District Engineer Marieta Mendoza na kabilang sa proyekto ang konstruksyon ng slope protection at pile driving ng steel sheet piles sa bahagi ng tabing-ilog.
Aabot sa P37 milyon ang pondo ng proyekto sa ilalim ng 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
Sinabi ng kagawaran na target matapos ang proyekto sa Setyembre upang maiwasan ang pagbaha sa panahon ng tag-ulan.
“The new Alaminos River Flood Control Structure is also seen to protect against scouring or erosion along riverbanks of Alaminos River in the long run,” dagdag ni Villar.
