Bagong height requirement sa mga mag-a-apply bilang pulis, welcome sa PNP
Welcome sa Philippine National Police (PNP) ang pagpirma ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa bagong batas ukol sa pinababang height requirement para sa mga aplikante na nais maging miyembro ng pambansang pulisya at iba pang uniformed services.
Ayon kay PNP Chief, Police General Guillermo Eleazar, hindi dapat maging hadlang ang pisikal na katangian, lalo na ang height, sa mga indibiduwal na nais makiisa sa uniformed services.
“I also echo the statement of then-PNP chief and now Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa that the police’s service to the nation cannot be measured by height. One’s height or physical appearance should never be a hindrance to a person’s desire to join the uniformed services,” pahayag nito.
Dagdag pa nito, “Hindi naman po sa height nakikita kung anong klase kang pulis, kung hindi sa tapat at malinis na pagsisilbi sa bayan.”
Nagbigay na aniya siya ng direktiba na i-accommodate at bigyan na rin ng QR codes ang mga nag-apply na kinapos sa unang height requirement ngunit pasok na sa bagong minimum requirement.
“Tutal ay online naman ang ating application, yung mga gustong mag-apply pa na yung height ay pasok sa bagong minimum height requirement na 5’2” sa mga lalaki at 5.0 feet sa mga babae, welcome po kayo at ipo-proseso naming ang inyong application,” ayon sa hepe ng PNP.
Sinabi rin ni Eleazar na hihingi sila ng patnubay ng National Police Commission ukol sa aplikasyon ng mga aplikante na umabot sa minimum height requirement ng Republic Act 11549.
Sa ilalim ng naturang batas, ibinaba na ang minimum height requirement sa 1.57 meters o 5 feet 2 inches para sa mga lalaki at 1.52 meters o 5 feet naman para sa mga babae.
Pasok ito sa mga aplikante sa PNP, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, at Bureau of Corrections.
