BREAKING: Economic Cha-cha, lusot na sa ikalawang pagbasa sa Kamara

Aprubado na sa ikalawang pagbasa ng Kamara ang panukalang amyenda sa restrictive economic provisions ng 1987 Constitution.

Sa viva voce voting, inaprubahan ng mga kongresista ang Resolution of Both Houses No. 2 na inihain ni Speaker Lord Allan Velasco.

Partikular na pinaaamyendahan ang Articles 12 (National Patrimony and Economy), 14 (Education, Science, Technology, Arts, Culture and Sports) at 16 (General Provisions).

Hindi naman isasama ang Section 7 ng Article 12 patungkol sa pagmamay-ari ng lupa ng mga dayuhan.

Sa panukalang economic Charter change, isisingit ang katagang “unless otherwise provided by law” para luwagan ang limitasyon sa foreign ownership sa natural resources, public utilities, educational institutions, media at advertising sa Pilipinas.
