Mga telcos hinimok maglagay ng libreng Wi-Fi at internet service sa mga isolation facilities sa buong bansa

Pinalalagyan ng libreng Wi-Fi at internet service ni Quezon City Rep. Precious Hipolito-Castelo sa mga telecommunications companies ang mga isolation facilities sa buong bansa.

Ayon kay Castelo, ito ay upang mahikayat ang mga COVID-19 positive  na asymptomatic at may mild at moderate symptoms na i-isolate ang kanilang mga sarili sa mga facilities.

Kung mayroon anyang free internet service ang mga isolation facilities ay hindi makakaramdam na nag-iisa ang mga pasyente dahil may paraan para makausap ang kanilang mga pamilya.

“The provision of such service will encourage those asymptomatic and with mild and moderate illness to isolate themselves in these facilities. That will lessen virus transmission, since many recent reported small clusters were households where an infected member isolating at home spread the virus,” saad ni Castelo.

Paliwanag ng mambabatas, maraming mga quarantine centers sa mga probinsya ang malalayo ang lugar na wala man lamang signal o internet connectivity.

Dagdag nito, “The pandemic response task force and local government units should continue to seek out and encourage patients who show no symptoms or are classified as mild and moderate cases to go to isolation patients so they would not infect their families and other persons.”

Giit nito, ang pagtulong ng mga telcos na magbigay ng libreng WiFi at internet connectivity sa mga isolation facilities ay magiging bahagi ng telcos sa pagpuno ng kanilang social responsibility.
