Mga COVID-19 vaccine, epektibo pa rin kahit umabot na sa expiry date

Tiniyak ni National Vaccination Operations Center Chairperson Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje na magiging epektibo pa rin ang mga bakuna kontra COVID-19 kahit na umabot na ang expiry date.

Pahayag ito ni Cabotaje sa gitna ng pag-amin na mag-i-expire na sa June 30 ang AstraZeneca vaccines.

Ayon kay Cabotaje, na-distribute na ang AstraZeneca vaccine sa iba’t ibang lokal na pamahalaan.

“But let me just have a short note on the expiry. Alam natin iyong mga vaccines all have very short shelf life. So kahit ano pang vaccine ang darating, we will expect na hindi ganoon katagal iyong kanilang shelf life. But ang ina-assure ng ating Philippine FDA, may stability data iyan. So ibig sabihin, even before the expiry hanggang sa expiry date ay stable pa rin iyong ating vaccine. All the vaccines have an EUA of six months from manufacturing. So ang importante, kaya natin minamadali bakunahan ang mga tao ay para magkaroon ng proteksiyon not because these are expiring,” pahayag ni Cabotaje.

Ayon kay Cabotaje, tinatamaan naman ng pamahalaan ang 108,000 na pagbabakuna at kayang abutin ang target na apat na milyon sa katapusan ng Mayo.

“Babantayan natin at i-encourage natin at imo-monitor natin para maisakatuparan na mai-jab lahat itong mga bakuna bago iyong expiry date,” pahayag ni Cabotaje.
