Pagsama ng local chief executives sa priority list ng COVID-19 vaccination, welcome sa DILG
Welcome sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang desisyon ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang na mapasama ang local chief executives (LCEs) sa COVID-19 vaccination priority list.
“They are frontliners in our COVID response as well as the delivery of public service amid the pandemic and they must be in the best of health to be able serve their constituents,” pahayag ni DILG Secretary Eduardo Año.
‘Good move’ aniya na mapabilang ang LCEs sa A1.5 category ng vaccination priority list.
Bilang elected officials, mataas ang tsansa na ma-expose at mahawa sila ng sakit dahil sila ang inaasahang mangunguna sa mga hakbang sa gitna ng COVID-19 crisis.
Sa anumang krisis, ang mga LCE aniya ang hinahanap ng mga mamamayan.
“Kaya naman buo ang suporta ng DILG sa pagpapasya ng pamahalaan na iangat sa A1.5 vaccination category ang mga pinuno ng pamahalaang lokal,” ayon sa kalihim.
Paliwanag pa nito, “Ang pagbabakuna naman po sa kanila ay hindi isang pabor ngunit isa ring pagtitiyak na may pinuno na patuloy na makakapaglingkod sa mga tao.”
Base sa Resolution No. 115-B ng Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, 1,634 provincial governors, at city at municipal mayors ang napabilang sa vaccination priority list sa ilalim ng A1.5 category.
