Konstruskyon ng tunnel para sa Davao City Bypass Road, sisimulan na sa Hulyo

Sisimulan na ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ang konstruskyon ng dalawang 2.3 kilometer tunnel para sa central portion ng Davao City Bypass Construction Project sa Southern Mindanao.

Pinondohan ang proyekto sa ilalim ng Official Development Assistance (ODA) ng Japanese Government sa pamamagitan ng Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Ayon kay DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, nagsimula nang magsidatingan ang mga kinakailangang kagamitan sa bansa para sa road tunnel construction.

Inaasahang makatutulong din ito upang mapalago ang kaalaman ng Filipino skilled workers sa paggamit ng mga makabangong kagamitan sa konstruksyon.

Sa ulat sa kalihim, sinabi ni Undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Operations Emil Sadain na sisimulan ang paggamit ng specialized equipment tulad ng drill jumbo, concrete spraying machine, at articulated dump hauler sa unang linggo ng Hulyo 2021.

Sabay-sabay na gagamitin ang apat na unit ng drill jumbo at concrete spraying machine sa north at south portal para makumpleto ang dalawang tunnel sa pamamagitan ng bagong Austrian tunneling method o sprayed concrete lining method.

Ang nasabing tunnel ay bahagi ng Contract Package 1-1 na sakop ang 10.7 kilometro ng four-lane highway.

Simula sa Davao-Digos section ng Pan-Philippine Highway sa Barangay Sirawan, Davao City patungo sa Davao-Panabo section ng Pan-Philippine Highway sa Barangay J.P. Laurel, Panabo City, inaasahang mapapagaan ang trapiko sa Davao City.

Mula sa 1 oras at 44 minuto via Pan-Philippine Highway Diversion Road, mapapababa sa 49 minuto na lamang ang biyahe.
