Bilang ng napauwing overseas Filipinos sa bansa, lagpas 401,000 na

Tuluy-tuloy pa rin ang repatriation efforts ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa gitna ng pandemya dahil sa COVID-19.

Sa huling tala hanggang May 15, 2021, umabot sa 401,105 overseas Filipinos ang napauwi sa repatriation efforts ng kagawaran.

Sa nasabing bilang, 105,417 ang seafarers habang 295,688 naman ang land-based overseas Filipinos.

Sinabi ng kagawaran na dalawang chartered flights ang naayos noong nakaraang linggo.

Kabilang sa mga nakauwi ang 344 stranded overseas Filipinos mula sa Saudia Arabia, 155 mula sa China, 14 distressed student sa Malaysia, at medical repats mula sa Bahrain at United Kingdom.

Siniguro ng kagawaran na patuloy ang kanilang pagtulong sa mga Filipino na stranded sa ibang bansa dahil sa COVID-19 travel restrictions.

Matatandaang nagsimula ang repatriation efforts ng kagawaran noong Pebrero ng taong 2020.
