Opisyal ng NEA, inasunto sa illegal campaign contributions

Sinampahan ng kasong graft and corruption ng Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) si National Electrification Administration (NEA) Administrator Edgardo Masongsong.

Paliwanag ni PACC Chairman Greco Belgica, ang kaso kay Masongsong ay nag-ugat sa pagpayag nito na magbigay ng kontribusyon ang electric cooperatives para sa pangangampaniya ng isang partylist group noong 2019 midterm elections.

“Ito po ay sa kaso na paggamit ng pera ng gobyerno para ho gastusin sa kampanya,”sabi ni Belgica.

Dagdag pa niya, bagamat alam ni Masongsong ang mga kontribusyon ng electric cooperatives sa Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Asso. Inc., o PHILRECA, hindi niya ito ipinatigil.

Nabatid na ang PHILRECA ay nagparehistro bilang partylist group sa Comelec noong 2018.

Ayon pa kay Belgica, base sa kanilang pag-iimbestiga, lumabas na may probable cause na maaring pag-aralan ng Ombudsman at maging daan para malitis si Masongsong.
