Trillanes, tatakbo sa pagka-pangulo kung hindi tatakbo si Robredo sa 2022 elections

Inanunsiyo na ni dating Senador Antonio Trillanes IV ang plano niyang pagtakbo sa pagka-pangulo sa 2022 elections.

“In view of VP Leni’s preparations to run for Governor of Camarines Sur in 2022, I, together with the Magdalo group, have decided to convey to the 1SAMBAYAN Coalition to change my status from being an alternate candidate (to VP Leni) to being a principal candidate for President to vie for the Coalition’s nomination,” pahayag ni Trillanes sa kaniyang Facebook account.

Nilinaw naman nito na ang kaniyang pag-anunsiyo ay hindi nangangahulugan ng pagkakahati ng oposisyon.

Sakaling magdesisyon si Vice President Leni Robredo na tumakbo sa pagka-pangulo bago makapili ang 1SAMBAYAN ng nominado sa Hulyo, babawiin aniya niya ang kaniyang kandidatura.

“In the event that VP Leni DEFINITIVELY decides to run for President BEFORE 1SAMBAYAN picks its nominees in July, I would wholeheartedly STEP ASIDE and WITHDRAW my own candidacy in her favor,” saad nito.

Aniya, “BUT UNTIL THEN, we would work on the assumption that VP Leni would run for Governor of Camsur.”

Sa ngayon, sisimulan na aniya niya ang kanilang preparasyon para tutukan ang pagbuo ng policy prescriptions upang maresolbahan ang mga problema sa bansa tulad ng pandemic response; economic recovery and poverty alleviation; peace and order/security sector reforms; anti-corruption/governance reforms; universal healthcare; foreign policy, kabilang ang West Philippine Sea; at iba pa.

Binigyang-diin nito na ang 2022 elections ang pinakamahalagang eleksyon sa kasaysayan ng bansa matapos ang 1986.

“Not only our Democracy is at stake, our very survival as a country is at stake, too,” paliwanag nito.

Aniya, sa loob lamang ng limang taon, nasira ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang mga institusyon, bumagsak ang ekonomiya, lumala ang kahirapan at korupsyon, isinuko ang interes sa West Philippine Sea, at kakulangan sa serbisyo-publiko.

“Worst of all, he made our people accept killings, immorality, indecency and vulgarity as the new societal norm,” ani Trillanes at dagdag pa nito, “Truly, we WILL NOT survive another 6 years of a Duterte rule.”
