P15.7-M halaga ng party drugs, nasamsam; 2 timbog
Nasamsam ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang tatlong package na naglalaman ng 9,243 ecstacy tablets o mas kilala bilang “party drugs.”
Sanib-pwersa sa controlled delivery operation ang Bureau of Customs NAIA, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), at NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG).
Tinatayang aabot sa P15,713,100 ang halaga ng naturang ilegal na droga.
Naaresto sina Rowena Canapit at Michael De Guzman nang magpakita sila ng authorization letter mula sa consignee, na nagngangalang Glory Joy Buzeta, upang makuha ang packages sa Quezon City Postal Office dakong 1:00 ng hapon.
Lumabas sa datos na ipinadala ang package ng isang “Agner Buzeta” at “Victor Martis” mula sa Netherlands at idineklara ito bilang hand bag at sapatos, baby clothes at iba pang damit.
Namataan ang ecstacy tablets nang makita sa x-ray images kung kaya nagsagawa ang Customs examiner ng 100-percent physical examination sa packages.
Natagpuan ang party drugs na nakatago sa mga pekeng compartment sa bawat gilid ng package.
Dahil dito, agad nakipag-ugnayan ang ahensya sa PDEA para sa controlled delivery operation laban sa consignee at iba pang responsableng indibiduwal dahil sa posibleng paglabag sa Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 na may kinalaman sa Section 1401 ng Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
