Itinaas ng Phivolcs ang Bulkang Bulusan sa Alert Level 1.
Ibig-sabihin, ayon sa Phivolcs, nasa abnormal na kondisyon ang nasabing bulkan.
Sa Bulusan volcano bulletin bandang 7:00 ng gabi, may naitalang 124 volcanic earthquakes simula noong May 8.
“The increased seismicity could be followed by steam-driven or phreatic eruptions at the summit crater or from flank vents on the upper to middle slopes,” pahayag ng ahensya.
Dahil dito, inabisuhan ang mga lokal na pamahalaan at publiko na ipinagbabawal ang pagpasok sa 4-kilometer radius ng Permanent Danger Zone at pinaaalerto sa 2-kilometer Extended Danger Zone (EDZ) sa southeast sector.
“People living within valleys and along river/stream channels especially on the southeast, southwest and northwest sector of the edifice should be vigilant against sediment-laden stream flows and lahars in the event of heavy and prolonged rainfall should phreatic eruption occur,” saad pa nito.
Tiniyak ng Phivolcs na mahigpit nilang babantayan ang kondisyon ng bulkan.
